I have heard of and applied for a few jobs.

I am writing this post because I know many people wonder how can I survive inthe country? there probably aren’t any jobs??!!

Well there are jobs at the local True Value… if you have never heard of this Home Hardware type store it is because they only really exist in B.C.  But the very funny very nice owner/manager is hiring and asked me to put in my resume.

Also the hospital is hiring… for nurses, at home helpers, administration, housekeeping and kitchen staff. I sent my resume for administrative work.

Also the library is hiring summer staff. I applied here and am set up for an interview. I hope that I will be able to do many programs and get full time work if I want it.

The school will be hiring in September work for supply teachers and support staff.

The Native Bands have positions for different E.C.E position. To plan programs for the next years daycare. I applied for this even thought I do not have my E.C.E. I have experience with children so i thought I might as well try. Also they are looking to hire some adult teachers to do a university prep course for Natives wanting to go back to university.

The water company (that delivers) water is looking for a relief worker.

B.C. Hydro is looking for people to work and be trained ( with pay) in a number of jobs.

Plus a sweet cafe is looking for help and someone to take over.

There are also some investment opportunities: a gas station for sale, a flower store for sale, the sweet cafe for sale and a computer repair shop ( the only one here) for sale.

Thinking these jobs won’t pay much… Most (I think) are an average of 15$ an hour. The rent here is good. My new parents, morgage plus taxes is about 800 a month. That is a 3-4 bedroom house with three acres of land on Main street. Other rent is 500 or so a month.

Between part time work Jonah and I will be in a good position to live and save up to buy land.
