If anyone is wonder why leave the city… congratulations for thinking about it is a great start.

Second you will want to study it out from the Bible that means… scripture upon scripture.

As I read the Bible stories I found that God was always keeping His people out of big cities, especially at a time of preparation.

Well, firstly, Adam and Eve we not placed in a metropolitan, where they could establish a business and live in an apartment building. God made them a beautiful garden to live in. They lived in the garden, they worked in the garden, the garden was their home. Genesis 3:2

Then with the tower of Babel a city, was left destitute when God changed the languages and the people were scattered with those who had common language over the world. Genesis 11:7-9

Abram, before he was Abraham was told to leave his family and go into a new land out of Babylon, Babylon was of course a city. Genesis 12:1;Genesis 13:12

When Abraham and Lot’s number increased so that they did not have enough space in the land they decided to separate. Lot decided to live near the city. Eventually the city lured Lot in. When the war came Lot and his family and people were taken and Abraham even, though he was in the less beautiful land was safe and able with his own men go and retrieve Lot and the rest of the things taken from Sodom and Gomorrah for the kings. Genesis 14:12-16

The children of Israel after being in bondage were taken to the wilderness. They were only to walk a short time to the promised land but they were kept in the wilderness to prepare the people for the land they were going to inhabit. the land was inhabited by people and those people lived in cities. But when the Israelites went to take the land that God had provided for them did they just move into the cities. No, look at Jericho they destroyed the cities. Joshua 6:24-27

Fast forward now. John the Baptist lived and preached in the wilderness. Matthew 3:1; Luke 3:2;7:24, Mark 1:4

You never here about Peter going to Rome to start a church and then deciding that is better to care for the church by living there. The apostles were always on the move, they stayed no where.

There are things that are not beneficial to us in the cities that should be avoided. When you look around in the cities, all you see is what man made. If it is a park or a tree a man built the park or planted the tree. When you leave the cities you are that much closer to appreciating God. His majesty and love is seen in nature. Romans 1:20. There you can commune with God. I did not say worship nature. I said worship God in nature. There is peace and life.

There is no pressure to get to work and sit at a desk. You are able to do as God instructed the Israelites to farm and harvest the ground. Your work will be in learning about the soil and seeds and flowers. Learning to make your dwelling and furniture. Like Paul who made tents and Jesus the carpenter. You will not have to go to a health club, breathe the recycled air and be inside to exercise. But you can climb the hills and mountains, hike and breathe the fresh air. Be in the sunlight that is essential and good.

You will not be pressured to wear the latest fashions those things that are not very covering or warm but made just for outward show. You will be able to sew clothes and knit and crochet those things that look beautiful and last long and are warm.

The best reason for not living in the cities is your families will be stronger. No need for mom and dad to be absent from the home for long hours without the children. Your children are able to learn the things that God has asked you to teach them and learn through watching you how to live the words of the Bible. They are able to grow and learn about God and His law.

Without having to fight the bad influences of the cities.

Then when you take the time to go and share the Gospel with those in the cities. You will have a rested benevolence. A different attitude and look about you that they will want to experience. You would be able to have faith like David that God has brought you though trials when no one was around to help. 1 Samuel 17:37 They will see that you have learned of God and how to depend on Him and they will want this God that teaches you contrary to the society because they will be able to see the wisdom in it.

This is the experience I want. So I am untangling myself from the ties of the city and moving. I know that God is and will lead and take care of me because it is done on faith on His Word.

I pray that you will pray about it and have God lead you to greener pastures. Remember fear does not come from God.
